Jenny has been swing dancing since 2003 when she and a friend were encouraged to take a class. Unfortunately, Jenny's friend headbutted a girl while doing the electric slide and was too ashamed to come back to classes. Undeterred by her friend's absence, Jenny continued to come to classes and you will now find her at some swing activity most nights of the week.

Jenny is a keen lindy hopper and as of 2005 she has been teaching weekly classes with Mark McCarthy. You will currently find her teaching Level 3 and 4 at Toowong. She has attended numerous swing dance camps over the years and considers them an unmissable opportunity to dance with people from all over Australia, not to mention receive instruction from an array of fantastic local and international teachers.

Her other love is Balboa, which she has been keen on ever since SDB started dedicated weekly balboa classes. She was thrilled to attend the Invitation Level at Balboa Rendezvous in 2006. Here she was able to dance with fellow balboa enthusiasts from all over the world and was also lucky enough to dance with some of the masters of the dance. Dancing with the masters has truly inspired her to be a better dancer (and to complain less when her legs are tired). Hopefully we can all still dance with such enthusiasm when we are in our eighties and nineties! Jenny and Mark were the winners of The Australian Balboa Championships in 2006 and runners up in 2007.

Together with her dance partner Mark, they plan to bring Blues and Ballrooming to Brisbane. This is a passion for them both and they have already had the opportunity to teach ballrooming at Swing Camp Oz in Adelaide (Jan 08). You will also find Jenny amongst the faces of the SDB performance troupe and she is a major contributor to the website photo gallery. She loves social dancing with her students so make sure you ask her for a dance!
