By now, you are comfortably dancing at all tempos of swing music and starting to throw in your own improvisations. You should have a good understanding of how swing music works, and how to play around with leading and following.
We recommend that you attend Level 3 solidly for at least three months before joining the Level 4 class. Please consult your teacher before you attend Level 4 to check that you can keep pace at a higher level, and will not disadvantage other Level 4 dancers.
From Level 4, you have the opportunity to start refining your style, practicing regularly, participating in interstate and international workshops and competitions, and regularly cutting a rug on the social dance floor. You may even be able to join the Swing Dance Brisbane Performance Troupe or even teach!
Cost: $14 Adult / $12 Concession. No additional cost to attend Swing Shack if paying for this class.

Current Class Review
Thanks to everyone who joined us on Friday night for the Sugar Push class.
This was a very technique focussed lesson with us working on the body movement, the absorption and delivering of the energy, and keeping the balance in both sides of the body no matter what the variation.
So the first version was our good old vanilla one with the lead in on 1 and the send out for four
Next was the delayed entry on &2 and the delayed exit on &5.
Hip twists were next with this bit of styling being lead by the guys. Have a play around with how much oomph gives what result!
Finally we did an extension of the Hip variation with the leads coming with their partner for a wind up into 5&6. From here leads you sprang her into a lovely rotational, stretchy rock-step before boinging her back down the line for a turn to open.
Thanks for all your hard work and intensity. The sugar push is one of those moves that presents many dancing variation options so keep practicing!
